I once met a fellow who told of a love

I asked him was it true or perhaps sent from a dove

He told me it wasn’t exactly the love I would think

It didn’t involve holding hands or blushing really pink

He said it wasn’t something you could pursue

Or even by works or deeds, something I could do

He explained of a Father up high in the sky

I said but he would suffocate with no oxygen and die

The fellow shook his head and stared so sad

You don’t understand he’s not that kind of dad

I was still confused but started to believe

There really was a True Love I could receive

He said you have always had this love don’t you see

All you have to do is accept the gift that is free

He knelt with me and together we prayed

He led in this prayer and then started to fade

Your life is forever changed

Death for life you have exchanged

Be strong take heart and wait for the Lord

In him you will never get bored
